Instagram recently added a privacy feature with read receipts on its platform. If you do not want the other person to know that you have read the message, then you will have to make a small setting in Instagram.
Do this to disable read receipts in Instagram.
step 1: First of all, open the Instagram app on your phone.
Phase 2: Now go to DM section.
Step 3: Now you have to open the chat whose message you want to read secretly.
step 4: Now click on the arrow that appears next to the username that appears at the top of that chat.
Step 5: Later in the new window you will see three options like Theme, Privacy & Security and Create Group Chat.
Step 6: From this you have to click on Privacy and Safety option.
Step 7: Afterwards you will see an option called Read Receipts which has been turned on.
Step 8: Now you have to toggle it off.
After this setting, whenever a user sends you a message on Instagram, you will also read their message, so that they will not know whether you have read their message or not.
