Why did RBI take this decision?
The names of Axis, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank and many other banks are in the list released by RBI. From where customers will get the facility to withdraw money from unclaimed deposits through UDGAM portal. It is likely that some more banks will be added to this list in the near future. You will be expected to register first by visiting the 'Unclaimed Deposit Gateway to Access Information' (UDGAM) portal issued by RBI. How much amount in unclaimed deposits?
According to the information of RBI, the country's largest bank, names of 30 banks have been included in the currently launched portal and these banks have about 90 percent of the total unclaimed deposits. You will be eligible to receive this amount after completing some personal information and details. RBI has said that till March 2023, there are about Rs 42,270 crore unclaimed deposits in various banks of the country.
