Shaktikanta Das has been rated by Global Finance magazine, which has rated central bank governors in its Central Banker Report Card 2024. Governors receiving the highest grades of “A+”, “A” or “A-” were announced by the magazine. The magazine covers central bank governors from nearly 100 countries, territories and districts, including the European Union, Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, Central African States Bank and West African States Central Bank.

How are rankings determined?

The magazine assigns grades from “A+” to “AF” based on success rates in inflation control, economic growth targets, financial stability and interest rate management. The founder and editor of Global Finance said that central banks have taken action against inflation in the last few years. In which they have used interest rates as the main weapon.
