East Champaran, 06 July (HS). Due to the intermittent heavy rains in the district for the last two days, waterlogging is being seen everywhere. The situation has become quite hellish in Raxaul, a border town of India-Nepal. Due to the inefficiency of the city council, the main road of the city is filled with knee-deep water, while in the lower areas, even the houses of the people have been filled with rainwater. Flood-like conditions have arisen in the markets. After water has filled in many shops, people are seen taking out water with buckets. Due to which the entire life has been disrupted.
Women and children are facing a lot of problems due to water entering their homes in the main road connecting India and Nepal, vegetable market, Mauja, Block Road, Railway Colony and other localities. At the same time, according to the weather department, heavy rains are predicted for the next three to four days, which may increase the problems of the people.
Local citizens told that this is the situation in the first rain of monsoon, if it rains more then the situation can get worse. People told that the city council did not clean the drains before monsoon due to which the entire drainage system has got jammed. Because of which the rain water is not able to drain out.
