Ravidas of Jammu wins in full marathon

Ballia, 28 October (Hindustan Reporter). Ravidas, a resident of Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, secured the first position in the marathon organized on the death anniversary of former MLA Manager Singh, known as Malviya of Dwaba in Ballia. Kuldeep Singh of Bhadohi, who came at a gap of two seconds from them, got second place and Ravi Kumar Pal of Lucknow got third place.

Ravidas, who stood first in the marathon, completed the race of 42.195 km in a total of two hours and twenty two minutes. He has also won many marathons in the past. Apart from this, Pankaj Kumar of Varanasi got first place in Half Marathon 21 km. In this, Ravi Kumar II of Hisar, Haryana and Ranjit Patel of Gorakhpur got second and third position. In 10 km, Prince Raj Yadav stood first and Trilok Kumar and Amit Kumar stood second and third respectively. In the same five kilometer race, Yashveer of Faridabad stood first, Pankaj Yadav of Sultanpur stood second and Sandeep Kumar of Hisar, Haryana stood third. Minister in-charge Dayashankar Mishra “Dayalu” presented a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh to Ravidas, who stood first in the marathon. Kuldeep Singh, who came second, was given a prize money of Rs 1 lakh and Ravi Kumar Pal was given a prize money of Rs 75 thousand. In the half marathon, the first winner was given a prize money of Rs 75 thousand, the second winner was given Rs 50 thousand and the third winner was given Rs 30 thousand. In the 10 km race competition, the first winner was given a prize money of Rs 25,000, the second winner was given Rs 15,000 and the third winner was given Rs 10,000. In the five km race competition, the first prize was Rs 10,000, the second prize was Rs 7,000 and the third prize was Rs 5,000.

Apart from this, cash prize money was given to the participants who stood up to 35th position in all the categories.

The program was inaugurated by the state government's AYUSH Minister Dayashankar Mishra “Dayalu” and Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh as the chief guest, jointly flagging off from Kunwar Singh Square at 7 am in the morning. In this, along with Superintendent of Police Vikrant Veer, CDO Ojasvi Raj and other officers were also present. The marathon ended at the statue of Babu Manager Singh in Bairia. The half marathon concluded near Haldi Bharsaunta petrol pump. The 10 kilometer race was held till Janani and the five kilometer race was held at Kadam intersection. Awards were given to all the winners at Sudishtha Baba School located at Raj Bairia Sudishtapuri.

Chief guest of the event Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu said that it is a matter of pride for the entire district. This is the fourth marathon of the state which was completed with such grandeur. This event will be given a more grand form in the coming year. Said that the history of Ballia has been very glorious and the people here have made an indelible mark on the entire world with their talent. This program organized on the thirtieth death anniversary of Babu Manager Singh, known as Malviya of Dwaba, will be inspirational for everyone. The program of Ballia Mahotsav, organized every year on the foundation day of Ballia, will be given an even bigger form in the future. Transport Minister Daya Shankar Singh said that this marathon, organized on the death anniversary of my maternal uncle Manager Singh, was completed safely with the cooperation of the entire district.

He said that a development map has been prepared at many levels in the district for the youth, which will be clearly visible in the coming days. With the cooperation of the state government, many development works are being carried out in the district and in the future also, the work which is in the public interest of the general public will definitely be completed. During this, all the guests were welcomed by the people of the organizing committee. Sudishtapuri School manager Manu Singh welcomed all the guests by garlanding them. The program was conducted by Amitabh Upadhyay. Pankaj Singh of the athlete organization who successfully conducted the marathon was honored. Many members came from outside to play the role of judges in the event. More than a thousand people from different states across the country participated in the marathon and other running competitions. Former MLAs Surendra Singh and Vijay Laxmi Singh etc. were present in the event.
