Ravi Shankar and Lalu exercised their franchise along with their families

Patna, June 01 (HS). In the seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections, voting is going on in eight parliamentary seats of Bihar since 7 am. These include Nalanda, Patna Sahib, Pataliputra, Ara, Buxar, Sasaram, Karakat and Jehanabad. According to the State Election Commission, an average of 16 percent voting has taken place on these seats till 11:00 am. During this time Lalu Yadav, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Misa Bharti, Rabri Devi and Tejaswi Yadav cast their votes.

BJP candidate from Patna Sahib Ravishank Prasad exercised his franchise along with his wife. Apart from him, Bihar Legislative Council Chairman Nandkishore Yadav also cast his vote and appealed to the people to cast their votes. Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav, his mother Rabri Devi, elder sister and RJD candidate from Pataliputra Misa Bharti and father Lalu Yadav cast their votes.

In the seventh phase, the reputation of many bigwigs is at stake on eight seats of Bihar. The reputation of JDU's current MP Kaushalendra Kumar from Nalanda, BJP's current MP Ravi Shankar Prasad from Patna Sahib, BJP MP Ramkripal Yadav from Patna's second seat Pataliputra, BJP MP RK Singh from Ara parliamentary seat, NDA's joint candidate Upendra Kushwaha from Karakat seat is at stake.

There is a direct contest between JDU's Kaushalendra Kumar and Grand Alliance's Sandeep Saurabh on the Nalanda parliamentary seat, BJP candidate Ravi Shankar Prasad and Congress candidate Anshul Abhijeet, son of former Lok Sabha speaker Meira Kumar, on the Patna Sahib seat, BJP candidate Ramkripal Yadav and Lalu Prasad's daughter Misa Bharti on the Patliputra seat, BJP candidate RK Singh in Ara and Grand Alliance's Sudama Prasad.

On the Buxar parliamentary seat, there is a contest between NDA's Mithilesh Tiwari and RJD's Sudhakar Singh, on the Sasaram seat, there is a triangular contest between NDA's Shivesh Ram and Grand Alliance's Manoj Kumar Bharti, while on the Karakat seat, there is a tough contest between NDA's Upendra Kushwaha from Karakat seat, Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh, who is contesting as an independent, and Grand Alliance's Raja Ram Singh. From the Jehanabad seat, JD(U)'s sitting MP Chandeshwar Chandravanshi and RJD's Surendra Yadav, apart from former MP Arun Kumar is contesting as an independent candidate.

It is noteworthy that the final phase of Lok Sabha elections is being held on a total of 57 seats in eight states of the country. A total of 904 candidates are trying their luck in the election field across the country. In the seventh phase, voting is going on in 13 seats of Uttar Pradesh, 13 of Punjab, 9 of West Bengal, 8 of Bihar, 6 of Odisha, 4 of Himachal Pradesh, 3 of Jharkhand and Chandigarh.
