In Javra, village Dhodhar, Arnia Pitha, Uparwada, Richha Chanda, Kalukheda and the surrounding villages of the district, many trees, sheds, advertisement boards fell down due to a strong storm on Sunday evening, while sheets placed outside many shops flew away and fell far away. In village Arnia Pitha, about five kilometers from Javra, a young man working in a finance company got hit by a flying sheet, while in village Richha Chanda, a laborer died when a shed built in the field collapsed.
According to the information, strong winds started blowing and rain started in many villages of the district on Sunday evening. In a short while, dust storm blew at many places and the storm caused havoc. Nilesh Bairagi, a resident of Shamgarh district Mandsaur, working in a private finance company, was going to Mandsaur with his friend Omprakash on a bike via Jawara to visit Pashupatinathji. He stopped near a petrol pump when a storm started in Arnia Pitha between four and four thirty in the evening. Meanwhile, a stone came flying from somewhere and hit Nilesh's head and neck. He was seriously injured by this. He was taken to a private hospital, where he died.
At the same time, 50-year-old Velji Dodiyar, son of Ditiya Dodiyar, resident of village Khandan (Kelkachchh), police station Bajna, died after being hit by a shed in a field located in village Richha Chanda. It is said that he lived in a shed built in the field. Due to a strong storm, the shed collapsed and fell on him. Meanwhile, in the fair organized in the premises of the Anadi Kalpeshwar Mahadev temple in Alot, the tents of many shops were uprooted and the traders suffered losses. In Javra, the power went off at three in the afternoon and did not come back till nine in the night.
Heavy rain occurred in Indore in the evening
In Indore too, rain brought relief for a while in many areas on Sunday, but people continued to be troubled by the humidity till late evening. In fact, the Sun God started raining fire since Sunday morning. The mercury had reached 32 degrees at 9 in the morning. As the day progressed, strong sunlight and hot winds started engulfing the city. The Meteorological Department recorded the day temperature as 43.3 degrees Celsius, which was 3 degrees more than normal, but after four in the evening, the sun suddenly disappeared and dark clouds camped. Then a period of strong winds started and then raindrops started falling.
The Municipal Corporation installed green nets on many roads of the city to provide relief to the drivers from the heat, but they could not withstand the strong winds. The green net installed at MR-9 intersection fell down. This caused a lot of trouble to the drivers and there was a traffic jam at the intersection. Later the corporation staff removed the net.
