Nawada, 27 May (HS). On Monday, in Sirdala of the district, there was a stir in the administration department when PDS ration was found on the road instead of the government shop in Chapri village of the block area. On receiving the information, Block Development Officer Dipesh Kumar and Additional Police Station Officer Avinash Kumar from Sirdala police station reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Due to which the ration card distribution came to light.
On Monday, a tractor carrying PDS ration of wheat and rice reaches Chapri village through the jungle. Where the shopkeeper starts distributing ration on the road on the outskirts of the village. Information of which is made by a villager by making a video and sending it to the district administration and other officials. After getting the information, before the Block Development Officer and the Police Station Incharge reach Chapri village, the tractor loaded with ration (wheat, rice) along with the trolley is successful in running away.
BDO Kumar said that as soon as he got the news of the arrival of the investigation team, the shopkeeper was able to run away from the spot with the tractor trolley full of ration. When he reached Chapri village after getting the information, he saw that ration was lying in several government sacks on a tarpaulin on the roadside. Dozens of rural men and women were present at the spot. It was evident from the looks that ration was being distributed.
Electronic weighing scale and POS machine for distribution of grains are also present on the spot. On enquiry from the villagers, it was found that the thumb impression of the beneficiaries was taken by the dealer four days ago. On Monday, the dealer reached the village with ration and was distributing it on the roadside. The ration was being distributed by Ranjit Kumar, son of Public Distribution Shopkeeper Baleshwar Yadav, resident of Pandeydih. When we tried to get information related to distribution from the POS machine, it was found that there was no paper in the machine, due to which no information could be obtained. After which the team reached the shop of Public Distribution Shopkeeper Baleshwar Yadav in Pandeydih where the shop was found closed. When dealer Baleshwar Yadav and his son were called in this regard, they said that they were coming but did not arrive even after waiting for hours. After which the team returned without inspecting the shop.
If sources are to be believed, the Rajauli Sub-Divisional Officer has entrusted the responsibility of investigation to Sirdala's Block Supply Officer Deepak Kumar. In this regard, MO Deepak Kumar said that under no circumstances can ration shopkeepers distribute ration from their shops to any other place, this is a legal offense.
It is noteworthy that the public distribution shopkeeper of Chapri village, Shivnandan Yadav, died in the month of July 2020. After which the beneficiaries of Chapri village were tagged at the shop of dealer Baleshwar Yadav of Pandeydih. The villagers told that after being tagged, every month the shopkeeper's son takes the thumb impression in the POS machine four days in advance and suddenly reaches our village and distributes grains anytime.
