Ration card: Additional Commissioner Food and Logistics has issued a letter to the District Supply Department stating that the work of getting 100% e-KYC of ration card holders done at the national level is in progress. To make e-KYC accessible to the beneficiaries, the Central Government has made arrangements that any beneficiary can get e-KYC done by going to any fair price shop of his choice anywhere in the country.
This arrangement will be especially beneficial for migrant laborers, who had to travel long distances to their home districts for e-KYC.
According to the District Supply Officer, fair price sellers will inform the beneficiaries that they can get their e-KYC done here. There is no need to go to the home state for this. E-KYC will be done free of cost with the help of fair price sellers through e-pass. For this, biometric authentication of the beneficiaries will be done.
Along with e-KYC, under this option, there will also be a facility to link mobile number to ration card. Using this, the ration card head can feed or modify his mobile number. Not only this, if the relationship of any member of the head's family is shown incorrectly, then it can also be corrected. Only the ration card head will have the right to make this modification.
