The central government had recently clearly said that fake ration cards should be declared invalid and cancelled immediately. The central government has said in its instructions that a search campaign should be conducted for duplicate, absentee, dead person and ineligible ration cards after 17 July 2019. On 28 January 2021 also, the central government had asked to conduct a special search campaign for ineligible ration cards.
40 thousand ration cards canceled in Delhi
Let us tell you that at present there are about 20 lakh ration cards in Delhi. On this ration card, the central government distributes ration to about 75 lakh people. Delhi's Food and Supplies Minister Imran Hussain has said that people who have ration cards should continue to take their ration. He said that he will once again write a letter to the central government to increase the quota of ration cards.
