Ratan Tata was ill for several days. He breathed his last at the age of 86 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. His demise has shocked not only the Indian industry but the entire country. Ratan Tata was born on 28 December 1937. His primary education was in Mumbai and his higher education was from Austin University, America. After joining the Tata Group in 1962, he held several important positions and eventually became the Chairman of the Tata Group in 1991. When he was the chairman of Tata Group, he established many new companies. These include Tata Nano, Tata Motors and Tata Steel.
