America mourned the death of veteran Indian industrialist Ratan Tata and remembered him as the pioneer of India's development. Ratan Tata, former chairman of the Tata Group, transformed a small conglomerate into one of India's largest and most influential conglomerates. Ratan Tata died on Wednesday night at Birch Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

It was inspiring to hear his perspective. He left an extraordinary business and philanthropic legacy, and was instrumental in guiding and developing modern business leadership in India. He was deeply concerned about making India the best. Deepest condolences to his loved ones and may the soul of Ratan Tataji rest in peace.

According to Cornell University, Tata completed his graduation from here and he made the largest donation to this university at the international level. Tata has left an extraordinary legacy for India and this university. Ratan Tata graduated from Cornell with a degree in Architecture. It was impossible to imagine then that his visionary leadership, philanthropy and commitment to humanity would have a global impact in advancing education and research in many fields. Ratan Tatane served three terms as a Cornell trustee from 2006 to 2022. He was named Cornell's Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013.
