Ratan Tata had made only one film: Veteran industrialist and Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata has said goodbye to the world at the age of 86. The entire country is mourning his demise. Ratan Tata lived his life with a vision and he turned his life into a mission, in every household of the country, the Tata Group is symbolized by Ratan Tata in some form or the other. Tata explored every field. He established different bases in different areas and also got success. If he could not make any field his own then it is the film industry. Although he tried his hand in this field also, he did not get much success. Now you might be wondering whether Ratan Tata became an actor or wrote the story of the film, so it is not that he invested money to make the film. That means his role was that of a producer.
This was the only film
Ratan Tata tried to get hold of the film as a producer but his first attempt proved unsuccessful. After this he turned towards films and never tried again after that. The only film produced by Ratan Tata is 'Etabar', which was released in theaters in 2004. The film was produced by Ratan Tata with Jitin Kumar, Khushboo Bhadha and Mandeep Singh. The film was directed by Vikram Bhatt. Artists like Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Supriya Pilgaonkar, Ali Azgar and Deepak Shirke played important roles in the film. Rajesh Roshan worked on the music of the film.
'Atbar' was an adaptation of the 1996 American film 'Fear'. The Hindi adaptation of 'Dar' has already been made, which is titled 'Inteha'. The special thing is that this film was also directed by Vikram Bhatt. This film was released just three months ago in October 2003. The story of 'Atbar' revolves around a father, Dr. Ranveer Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan), who is very protective of his daughter Rhea (Bipasha Basu) after losing his son Rohit. He tries to stop his daughter from having a relationship with an authoritarian and unpredictable boy Aryan (John Abraham), but the daughter ignores him and continues to meet him.
the film flopped
The film 'Atbar', released on 23 January 2004, was a flop at the box office. The film could not even recover its costs. Made for Rs 9.30 crore, this film earned only Rs 7.96 crore at the box office. The film proved to be a commercial failure and this was the reason why Ratan Tata never invested in any film again.
