Mumbai: Ratan Tata invested in many areas of the industry and achieved success. However, he got burnt when he stepped into Bollywood. The film 'Aitbar' produced by him was a flop.
There is hardly any sector of industry and commerce in which the Tata Group has not achieved success. But, Tata Group stayed away from Bollywood. However, Tata Group first entered Bollywood in 2004. In 2004, Ratan Tata invested in the film 'Aitbar'. He joined Vikram Bhatt as co-producer in the romantic thriller film 'Aitbaar'. Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham and Bipasha Basu starred in the film. In the same period, the film 'Jism' became a hit and due to this, the pairing of John and Bipasha remained in the news. The film was based on the 1996 Hollywood thriller film 'Fear'. This film was made under the banner of Tata BSS.
However, this film, made with a budget of Rs 9 crore, flopped badly at the box office last week. His earning was less than five crores. Over time, its total collection at the worldwide box office barely reached Rs 8 crore.
After this one experience, Ratan Tata again distanced himself from Bollywood and never produced any film.
