Speaking after the conclusion of the week-long tour of Rajouri and Poonch districts in connection with the election campaign of Indi Alliance candidate Anantnag-Rajouri Mian Altaf Ahmed, the senior NC leader said that recently in Surankote, Poonch, Mendhar, Rajouri There has been an increase in huge public rallies. He said that these large meetings with enthusiastic participation reflect the deep support for the party among various villages located in the hilly areas and plains of the above districts. He said that these successful rallies highlight the party's ability to unite and motivate the masses, thereby confirming it as a strong force in the political arena of Jammu and Kashmir.
Gupta said there is no competition for the party on Anantnag-Rajouri seat as there is a strong NC wave there and people are wholeheartedly supporting party candidate Mian Altaf. He sarcastically said that BJP, which claims to be the world's largest political party, has failed to field its candidates in the Kashmir Valley. He said that since there is no candidate in the fray, the BJP is supporting its proxy candidate who has no credibility or relevance in the political scenario. He said that due to the failed policies of BJP in Jammu and Kashmir during the last ten years of misgovernance, such a situation has arisen that no one is going to buy the saffron party.
Ratan Lal accused the BJP of reviving terrorism in Rajouri and Poonch districts, being a factor in rising unemployment, high inflation and rampant corruption. He also condemned the stabbing of youth during the rally and demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.
