Jhansi, March 10 (Hindustan Reporter) As part of the anti-drug campaign being run by the Uttar Pradesh government to save the young generation from drugs, Nawabad police station led by IPS raided illegal hookah bars running in restaurants. Taking effective action against illegally operating hookah bars, Jhansi Police raided 07 different hookah bars in the city area, in which 27 hookahs were recovered and 11 persons were arrested.
On Sunday, under the direction of SSP Rajesh S, under the leadership of IPS Antriksh Jain, Nawabad police station incharge Shailendra Singh along with the police force raided UP 93, Moh Maya, Cabana, Skyza, Fresh and Fusion, GTR and Manali Cafe. During this time, many young girls were found smoking hookah. After convincing them, they were sent to their homes and the hookah bar operators were detained and interrogated. This action of the police has created a stir in all the illegal hookah bars. Legal action is being taken by registering a case against the total 11 accused arrested during the raid under Section 21/22 of Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act-2003.
