Ranchi, 21 August (HS). The court of Additional Justice Commissioner Arvind Kumar on Wednesday sentenced Chandan Sao, who was found guilty of sexually exploiting a young woman for four years on the pretext of marriage, to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 15,000. If he does not pay the fine, he will have to serve an additional sentence of three months.
This case is of the year 2020. The girl had lodged an FIR in this regard at the women's police station. In the case, Additional Public Prosecutor Meenakshi Kandulna presented eight witnesses including a magistrate on behalf of the prosecution. Chandan Sao was convicted by the court on August 19 and the date for the verdict was fixed for August 21.
