Ranji Trophy: Mumbai won Ranji Trophy after eight years, defeated Vidarbha by 169 runs in the final

Musheer scored a century in the second innings

In this match, Mumbai's second innings ended at 418 runs. On the basis of first innings, Mumbai got a big lead of 119 runs and Vidarbha got the target of 538 runs. Musheer Khan scored a brilliant 136 runs in the second innings for Mumbai. Musheer hit 10 fours in his innings of 326 balls. For Mumbai, Shreyas Iyer (95), captain Ajinkya Rahane (73) and Shams Mulani (50) also played half-century innings. For Vidarbha, Harsh Dubey took maximum five wickets and Yash Thakur took three wickets.

Batting first after losing the toss, Mumbai scored 224 runs in its first innings. Shardul Thakur scored the most runs in the first innings for Mumbai. Shardul scored 75 runs in 69 balls which included 8 fours and three sixes. Openers Prithvi Shaw (46) and Bhupen Lalwani (37) also made important contributions. Yash Thakur and Harsh Dubey took three wickets each for Vidarbha. Umesh Yadav got two wickets and Aditya Thackeray got one wicket.

In response to 224 runs, Vidarbha's first innings was reduced to just 105 runs. In the first innings, only Atharva Tayde (23), Aditya Thackeray (19), Yash Rathore (27) and Yash Thakur (16) could reach double figures for Vidarbha. Dhawal Kulkarni, Tanush Kotian and Shams Mulani got three wickets each for Mumbai. While Shardul Thakur got one wicket.
