Ranchi police is conducting raids in Bihar and Odisha in DP Jewelers robbery case, six in custody

Ranchi, July 03 (HS). In the case of armed robbery at DP Jewelers near Birsa Chowk in Jagannathpur police station area of ​​the capital, the Ranchi police team has simultaneously raided several places in Bihar and Odisha to arrest the robbers. Police has detained six people and is interrogating them.

Police sources said on Wednesday that the police have got many important clues in the robbery case. Police investigation has revealed that the number of the bike on which the criminals fled is registered in the name of a person from Howrah. The police team is gathering information about that person. After carrying out the robbery, the robbers left one bike on the airport road. After this, the robbers fled on another bike.

Police suspect that the seized bike is stolen. SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha has formed an SIT to solve the robbery case. City SP Rajkumar Mehta, three DSPs, seven police station in-charges and 16 sub-inspectors have been included in the SIT team. The team is continuously conducting raids to arrest the robbers.

It is noteworthy that on June 28, four criminals had escaped after looting jewelery worth about Rs 1.50 crore at gunpoint from DP Jewelers located at Birsa Chowk. In this case, an FIR was lodged in Jagannathpur police station on the statement of the operator Om Verma. During the robbery, the operator was shot by the criminals. Due to this, he was injured.
