Ranchi, 09 September (HS). Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha flagged off the nutrition chariot from the Collectorate premises on Monday. During this, the awareness chariot was jointly flagged off by Additional District Magistrate Law and Order Rajeshwar Nath Alok, District Social Welfare Officer Surabhi Singh, Special Distribution Officer Meena Kumari and District Public Relations Officer Urvashi Pandey.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the Nutrition Month has been organized from 1st to 30th September. Through the Poshan Rath, people will be made aware about proper nutrition in urban and rural areas. It is our aim that wherever there are pregnant women, lactating women and new born babies, all should get proper nutrition. He said that people will be made aware about the availability of food and medicines containing proper nutrients to women, adolescents and children from time to time. The Deputy Commissioner said that through the Poshan Abhiyaan, efforts are being made by the Health Department and the District Social Welfare that along with information on balanced diet, nutrition should be made available to women and babies on time.
