Ramnagar police caught five thieves, recovered 09 bikes, expensive hobby made him a thief

Varanasi, March 28 (HS). Ramnagar police laid siege near Jeevnathpur Dhundraj Pulia and caught five vicious vehicle thieves. There is a teenage thief in this. After interrogating the five, the police team recovered nine stolen motorcycles at their behest. The value of the recovered motorcycle was estimated to be around Rs 8 lakh in the market. The arrested thieves were presented before the media on Thursday.

DCP Crime Chandrakant Meena said that Sub Inspector Jaiprakash Singh was checking suspicious vehicles along with his fellow police personnel. Meanwhile, members of the crime branch team also reached there. The police team was talking among themselves when four suspects were seen coming from Jeevnathpur on two motorcycles. When the police team signaled them to stop, all four turned their bikes and ran back. The police team chased them and caught them near Dhundraj Pulia. During interrogation, all four told that the vehicle was stolen. When the police took both the bikes in their possession and interrogated them, seven more motorcycles were recovered from their custody and one of their teenage companions was also caught.

DCP Crime said that among the arrested thieves, the kingpin is Azad Sonkar, resident of Hasapur Adalhat, Nitish Kumar Maurya, resident of Adalhat Shivpur, Noor Alam, resident of Garaudi village, Dharmendra Vishwakarma, resident of Robertsganj Gularhwa Basti, teenage thief Karan Mishra, resident of Hasapur Adalhat. The thieves told that their gang detonates motorcycles from various places in Varanasi and Chandauli district. They prepare fake documents of stolen vehicles and sell them to nearby people. With this money they fulfill their expensive hobbies. The police team that arrested the thieves included Ramnagar police station in-charge Inspector Jagdish Kushwaha, SI Jaiprakash Singh, Amit Kumar Tripathi, Anil Rajput, Constable Dinesh Kumar etc.
