Ramlala was offered special ‘Kheer’ amid the rain of nectar on Sharad Purnima in Ayodhya.

The holy festival of Sharad Purnima concluded on Sunday with utmost reverence, devotion and traditional gaiety in the grand Ram Janmabhoomi complex located in the religious city of Ayodhya. On this special religious occasion, a very captivating worship and divine adornment was done to Lord Shri Ramlala Sarkar in the child form present in the sanctum sanctorum. On the auspicious combination of the arrival of autumn and the pale moonlight of the full moon, special kheer made from pure cow’s milk, dry fruits and saffron was offered to the Lord at midnight. During this festive event, tight and tight security arrangements were made in the temple premises so that all the classical traditions and rituals could be conducted smoothly with complete dignity and peace.

According to the beliefs of Sanatan Dharma, on the holy night of Sharad Purnima, the moon with all its 16 arts showers nectar in the sky. There is a religious belief that on this night, kheer kept under the open sky under the cool rays of the moon becomes like nectar after being filled with medicinal and spiritual properties. Following this ancient tradition, Kheer was prepared and kept under the open sky in the Ramjanmabhoomi pilgrimage area and then at the special time of midnight, it was offered at the feet of Lord Ramlala along with chanting mantras. After the offering, this nectar-filled kheer was distributed as Prasad among the saints and trust workers present.

While sharing the outline of the entire religious ritual, Indradev Mishra, head of the religious system of Ram temple, said that the order of special worship on the occasion of Sharad Purnima had started immediately after the evening aarti. After the evening puja, the movable idol of Ramlala was brought out of the sanctum sanctorum as per the rituals and installed on the northern platform of the temple. As soon as the Lord was seated on the northern platform, the priests and devotees present in the temple started melodious singing of traditional verses. The atmosphere of the entire campus became completely devotional and joyful with the echo of melodious bhajans and Awadhi folk verses.

All the special classical rituals of Sharad Purnima were performed on the northern platform itself under the supervision of Vedic Acharyas. During this, key officials and dignitaries of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust were present. In the event, mainly Trustee Mahant Dinendra Das, Trustee Dr. Nirmala Yadav, CEO of Temple Construction Committee, retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra and Chief Archak Acharya Keshav Sharma along with Ramlala’s associate Archak, senior employees of the Trust and top security officials were present throughout the event. Everyone together performed the aarti and prayed for the welfare of the people.

After the successful completion of the divine rituals of Sharad Purnima, now the holy birth anniversary of the great poet Maharishi Valmiki is also being celebrated with full enthusiasm and grandeur in the Ramjanmabhoomi complex on Monday. In honor of Maharishi Valmiki, the author of Ramayana, the newly constructed Valmiki Temple within the complex has been specially decorated with colorful fragrant flowers and attractive lamp garlands. On this auspicious occasion, eminent saints of Valmiki Samaj, social reformers, distinguished representatives and top officials of Ram Mandir Trust have been respectfully invited.

All religious and cultural programs related to Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti are being efficiently coordinated and led by Trustee Dr. Nirmala Yadav. During the program, verses from the original Ramayana written by Maharishi Valmiki will be recited and a symposium based on his life philosophy and message of social harmony will also be organised. A huge enthusiasm is being seen among the devotees and local citizens throughout Ayodhya Dham regarding this event.
