Ramit Tandon reaches second round of World Squash Championship

New Delhi, May 11 (Hindustan Reporter) Indian player Ramit Tandon made a winning start to enter the second round of the ongoing World Squash Championship in Cairo on Friday. Ramit defeated American player Faraz Khan 3-0 (11-1, 11-3, 11-3) in the first round match. World number 36 player Ramit won the match in just 13 minutes.

Tandon, the only Indian player participating in this tournament, will face seventh seed Mohammed Elshorbagy of England in the second round on Sunday.

Let us tell you that before this, Ramit had reached the third round of El Gouna International Open Squash Tournament, where he had to face defeat from world number 3 Diego Elias of Peru.

Ramit was defeated by Elias 11-2, 11-4, 11-2 in 35 minutes. The world number 40 Indian player had defeated world number 62 Ali Hussein of Egypt in the first round of the El Gouna International Open Squash Tournament and world number 11 Victor Croin of France in the second round.
