Ramen Deka will be the new Governor of Chhattisgarh, order issued late night

Raipur, 28 July (HS). President Draupadi Murmu has appointed new governors of 10 states late on Saturday night. This includes Chhattisgarh as well.

Ramen Deka has been appointed as the new Governor of Chhattisgarh in place of Vishwa Bhushan Harichandan. Vishwa Bhushan Harichandan is currently not in charge of any state. He was appointed Governor of Chhattisgarh on 23 February 2023.

70-year-old Raman Deka was born on 1 March 1954. He is currently the national secretary of BJP. He has been active in politics since 1980. Deka has become an MP twice on BJP ticket. In 2009, he was elected MP for the first time from Mangaldoi seat of Assam. After this, he became MP again in 2014.

Raman Deka was also a member of the panel of Speakers in Lok Sabha, as well as a member of the Deka Advisory Committee, a member of the Central Advisory Committee of the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh ​​Gram Yojana. He was also a member of the Ministry of External Affairs and Foreign and Overseas Indian Affairs. Raman Deka has also been the President of Assam BJP in 2006.
