Ramadan 2024: Fasting will start in India from March 12, know the timings of Sehri and Iftar here

Ramzan 2024: Islam's holy month Ramzan has almost started. The Islamic calendar is based on the cycle of the moon, so the month of Ramadan moves forward by about 10 days each year. It is noteworthy that the moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia on March 10 and only after that Ramadan will start in India from March 12.

During this month, Muslims around the world fast from sunrise to sunset. There are two important times for fasting people when they can eat food, one is Iftar, which is eaten after sunset, and the other is Sehri, which is eaten before sunrise. Iftar timings also fluctuate daily as its timing depends on the rising of the sun.

Sehri and Iftar timings are also mentioned in the calendar of Madrasa Raza-e-Mustafa. Let us tell you that it is believed that this month brings a person face to face with Allah. During this time people keep fast. This fast, which is observed without water for 30 days from sunrise to sunset, is very difficult and one has to maintain a lot of patience during this period.

After 30 days comes the festival of Eid, in which people hug each other and wish each other a happy Eid. This festival brings happiness and enthusiasm and that is why vermicelli is prepared in homes on this day and that is why it is called Meethi Eid. According to the Mustafa calendar, the first fast will be of 13 hours 18 minutes, which will be the shortest fast of this holy month, while the last fast of this month will be the longest, whose duration will be 14 hours 7 minutes.

People offer namaz five times during Ramzan. People meditate on God and seek forgiveness from Him for their sins and during this time people also donate some part of their earnings to the needy, which is called Zakat. People who are sick, children, pregnant women and women who have recently become mothers are exempted from fasting.

This fast, which started from March 12, will continue till April 10, which means this time the festival of Eid can fall on April 11. However, the decision on this will be taken only after the sighting of the Eid moon on April 10. Let us tell you that Sehri and Iftar have great importance during fasting.
