Rakshabandhan and Shravani festival celebrated with devotion and gaiety | News India

Haridwar, August 19 (HS). Raksha Bandhan festival, the festival of sacred love between brother and sister, was celebrated with devotion and gaiety. Along with this, Brahmins celebrated Shravani festival by performing Upakarma. Due to Raksha Bandhan festival, there was a lot of hustle and bustle in the markets. Brahmins were also seen performing Shravani rituals on the banks of the Ganga.

Raksha Bandhan festival was celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm in the pilgrimage city. During this, sisters tied rakhi on the wrists of their brothers and prayed for their long life, while brothers pledged to protect their sisters and presented them gifts.

Due to Bhadra, the festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated from afternoon onwards. Although the full moon date was from the morning, but due to Bhadra, the festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated from afternoon onwards. Although some people celebrated Raksha Bandhan without considering it due to Patal's Bhadra, but most of the people celebrated Raksha Bandhan after afternoon.

On the other hand, the Brahmins performed Shravani Upkarma, tied Yagyopavati and put on new Yagyopavit and tied Raksha Sutra. Due to Shravani Upkarma, a different view of Upkarma being performed by Brahmins on the banks of Ganga was seen. Rigvedi Brahmins performed Shravani Upkarma.

On the other hand, due to Raksha Bandhan, the markets were quite lively. There was a huge crowd of people at the fruit and sweets shops.
