CM said that at one time the speed of railways was limited to meter gauge. There was stagnation due to lack of electrification. The goods train took several days to reach Delhi from Kolkata. The railway has broad gauge, electrification facilities as well as an Eastern-Western freight dedicated corridor for freight transportation.
