Rajmata Madhavi Raje Scindia died on Wednesday morning 15 May at AIIMS, Delhi. She was unwell for the last three-four months. He was having difficulty breathing due to lung infection. His health suddenly deteriorated again in the early hours of Wednesday and his breathing broke. On Thursday morning, his mortal remains were brought to Gwalior by a special plane. A large number of people from nearby areas including Gwalior gathered at Rani Mahal to see the mortal remains. Thousands of people paid homage to the mortal remains of Rajmata. The process of paying homage started at 12 noon and continued till 3:30 pm. After this, the last journey of Rajmata started in a royally decorated palanquin. A large number of leaders, activists, people from social and cultural organizations including BJP and Congress participated in the last journey that started from the palace.
