Rajkot: Meghraj has been creating a storm in Saurashtra for the last two days. However, torrential rain is becoming a problem for the people. Farmers are quite worried. Rajkot also received normal rainfall today. Due to heavy rain in Upleta, there is waterlogging everywhere.
An average of 3 inches of rain was recorded in Upleta taluka from 8 am to 6 pm today. Out of which, 2.5 inches of rain fell in just 4 hours from 8 to 12 noon. Due to this, rainwater entered the houses of people living in low-lying areas. The houses of people surrounded by rainwater have also suffered massive damage.
People in the area near Kisan Dairy on Wadla Road in Upleta are facing problems as rainwater is entering the houses and their household goods including grains, clothes, mattresses are getting wet. There is a lot of anger among the local people due to no action being taken even after several proposals for drainage.
