Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium now under the control of Uttarakhand government – ​​News India Live

Dehradun, 17 February (HS). Due to non-compliance with the instructions of the National Company Law Tribunal, the property has been vacated from Dehradun Integrated Arena Limited, the firm authorized to operate the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, and has come under the control of the state government, that is, now the Uttarakhand government will take over the responsibility of the stadium.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to strengthen sports infrastructure facilities in the state. This decision has been taken in this sequence. This will also help in conservation of sports assets in the state and successful organization of National Games.

The contract was signed in May 2018-

It is noteworthy that Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium was given on tender basis to M/s ITUAL, which formed Dehradun Integrated Arena Limited Company and entered into a contract with the state government in May 2018 for the maintenance and operation of the stadium. During the Covid period, the said company had filed a suit in NCLT for insolvency due to lack of sufficient financial resources to operate the stadium. NCLT had appointed IRP Anshul Pathania for the resolution plan.

Act contrary to contract terms-

In November 2023, NCLT had issued orders accepting the resolution plan of M/s Triver Enterprises, but the said company neither obtained approval from the State Government as the new operating agency nor opened the escrow account as per the original contract terms or Not only was the required bank guarantee provided, money was also taken from various organizations for booking for organizing programs in the stadium.

Notice sent on December 2023-

After the decision of NCLT, notice was given to M/s Dehradun Integrated Arena Limited as per the terms of the contract on 12 December 2023 to comply with the terms of the contract, cognizance of which was not taken. Not only this, the representatives did not come for the meeting even after asking for time for the meeting.

The victim organization lodged an FIR-

The victim organization has also lodged an FIR in Raipur police station against the booking being done by the new organization, the investigation of which is in progress at the police level. In the interest of conservation of the state and the property, a notice was issued again on 13 February 2024 and instructions were given to vacate the property. In this sequence, on 17 February 2024, the organization has vacated the premises and the state government has taken control of the stadium in public interest.
