Rajgarh: Two arrested in bike theft case, six bikes recovered

Rajgarh, June 5 (HS). The Jirapur police station team arrested two accused in the case of theft of six bikes from different areas last month and recovered six bikes worth four lakh rupees from their possession.

Station in charge Ramkumar Bhagat said on Wednesday that six bike thefts took place in the town of Jirapur in the past month, in which the crime was committed in a very clever manner, bikes were stolen from Inder Auraha on February 7, from in front of HDFC Bank on March 16, from near the tehsil on March 16, from Dangi Mohalla Jirapur on December 14 and from in front of the electricity office on May 11. Police registered a case of theft against unknown persons and started the search.

During the investigation, a team formed under the guidance of senior officers, on the information of an informer, raided Nahardi Badli Jirapur and arrested Zakirmal (38) son of Babu Khan and Aslam (32) son of Jumma Khan, from whose possession six stolen bikes worth Rs 4 lakh were seized. On interrogation, the accused told that they used to break the locks of the bikes and start them directly, and in order to sell them, they used to change their original chassis and engine numbers with the help of hammer, pencil, tape and paper.
