New Delhi, April 11 (Hindustan Reporter) Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined Rs 12 lakh for slow over-rate during the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday.
“Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined after maintaining a slow over-rate during the IPL 2024 match against Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur on April 10,” a release issued by the league on Friday said. Since this was his team's first offense of the season under the IPL code of conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Samson has been fined Rs 12 lakh.”
Talking about the match, Rajasthan, batting first, scored 20 runs thanks to the half-centuries of captain Sanju Samson (68 runs not out, 38 balls, 7 fours, 2 sixes) and Ryan Parag (76 runs from 48 balls, 3 fours, 5 sixes). Scored 196 runs for 3 wickets in the over.
In reply, Gujarat won by scoring 199 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Gujarat needed 15 runs in the last over and all-rounder Rashid Khan scored the required runs by batting brilliantly and gave his team victory by hitting a four on the last ball.
