Raisen, 23 March (Hindustan Reporter). A diesel tanker caught fire on Saturday night near Begumganj police station area of the district. The accident happened in Khiriya village on Sagar Road. A tanker carrying diesel suddenly caught fire at the plant of a road construction contractor here. Within no time, high flames started rising. The workers present there including the tanker driver and his colleague ran away after seeing the danger. There was no loss of life in the accident, but the fire was so fierce that it could be controlled within a short time with the help of three fire engines.
According to the information, a tanker carrying diesel suddenly caught fire at around 9.30 pm on Saturday at the plant of a road construction contractor located at village Khiriya on Sagar Road under Begumganj police station. Within no time, high flames started rising. Seeing this, the staff present there including the driver ran away seeing the danger. Two fire brigades from Begumganj including Rahatgarh arrived and controlled the fire with difficulty. The fire was so severe that the tanker broke in the middle. The heat of the fire was felt far and wide. Due to which a lot of difficulty was faced in extinguishing the fire.
Meanwhile, police stopped traffic on Sagar-Bhopal highway. Due to which there are queues of dozens of vehicles on both sides. Begumganj SDOP Alok Srivastava said that a tanker filled with diesel caught fire for unknown reasons, which has been extinguished, currently there is no news of any casualty due to the fire.
