Raipur: Investigation campaign intensified after implementation of code of conduct

Raipur, 1 April (HS). Since the Model Code of Conduct came into effect on March 16 for the Lok Sabha General Elections-2024 in the state, till March 31, illegal money and items worth Rs 28 crore 34 lakh have been seized. This includes cash amount of Rs 8 crore 12 lakh.

According to the information received from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer on Monday, during the monitoring by the enforcement agencies till March 31, 22 thousand 775 liters of illicit liquor, worth Rs 52 lakh, has been seized. Besides, 827 kg of other intoxicants worth Rs 1 crore 52 lakh have also been seized. During the intensive investigation operation, 23.15 kg of precious jewelery and gems worth Rs 94 lakh were also seized. Apart from these, other materials, worth Rs 17 crore 24 lakh, have also been seized.
