The Char Dham Yatra has been temporarily suspended on Sunday in view of the forecast of heavy rains on July 7-8 in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey said that the decision to suspend the yatra has been taken for the safety of the pilgrims. He said that those who have already left for the pilgrimage have been advised to wait till the weather clears before starting their onward journey. More than 52 people died due to floods in Assam
