Rain in Shahpura, lightning struck a residential house

Shahpura, June 28 (HS). Due to sudden heavy rain in Shahpura on Friday evening, various crossings and main market of the city got flooded due to which people had to face a lot of difficulty in movement for an hour. Despite the instructions of the District Collector to make proper arrangements for water drainage three days ago, the preparations of the Municipal Council administration were exposed.

During the rain, a house in a street in front of Barhat Museum was damaged by lightning. In this accident, electrical equipment in half a dozen nearby houses were burnt and destroyed. Suddenly clouds gathered and heavy rain started.

Lightning struck the house of businessman Sundar Jhanwar in the street in front of the museum near Sadar Bazar. The parapet, railing and wall of the house were damaged due to the lightning. On receiving the information, Nagar Parishad Chairman Raghunandan Soni and the area councilor immediately reached the spot. They inspected the situation and called other personnel of Nagar Parishad and the engineer of the Electricity Corporation to the spot and gave instructions to improve the system.

Due to heavy rain for about an hour and a quarter in Shahpura, five houses of Kahar Basti on Bengu Road were flooded. Due to this, people had to face a lot of difficulties in working. Water filled all around Trimurti Chauraha, Sabzi Mandi, bus stand outside Ramdwara, due to which traffic was disrupted. A high velocity of water was also seen in the main market, due to which shopkeepers and passersby faced a lot of trouble.

After the incident, the local administration and the Municipal Council team reached the spot and started the relief work. Chairman Raghunandan Soni directed the Electricity Corporation to restore power supply with immediate effect and repair the damaged houses.

Businessman Sundar Jhanwar said that he was in his house when the lightning struck. Due to the sudden thunder and lightning, the parapet and railing fell down. He immediately evacuated his family members from the house, so that no loss of life occurred. Later, information was also received about burning of electrical equipment in the nearby houses.

This incident of heavy rain and lightning in Shahpura has created panic among the people. Efforts are being made by the local administration to improve the situation as soon as possible so that normal life can be restored.
