New Delhi: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in a press conference that this year on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath Puja, seven thousand special trains will be run to facilitate two lakh additional passengers daily. A railway official said that last year, in view of the rush of passengers on the occasion of Diwali and Chhath Puja, 4,500 special trains were run, the ministry has decided to increase the services this year. Northern Railway will run more number of trains during this period as a large number of passengers travel to the eastern parts of the country. Northern Railway said in a list that 3050 special trains will be run to take passengers to their destination. Indian Railways had run festival special trains in the year 2023, in which Northern Railway had run 1,082 trains, in which 3050 train trips will be run this year. Apart from special trains, coaches are being increased in view of the interest of passengers in routine trains.
