Railways: There will be no train accidents in 12 states including UP, government has made a special plan | News India

Indian Railways, which has been troubled by train accidents in the last few months, has made a foolproof plan to prevent them. Railways has prepared a plan to completely control train accidents in 12 states of the country including UP and Jharkhand. Tender has also been issued for this. Officials related to the matter say that Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system or shield system will be installed in these 12 states. Railways will spend money for this. Tender of 2700 crores has been issued.

Let us tell you that more than half a dozen rail accidents have happened in the last few months. The most dangerous among them was the Kanchenjunga Express, in which 9 people lost their lives and 41 people were injured. After this, the railways focused on increasing the scope of the armor system with the aim of completely controlling the accidents. Recently, train accidents occurred in many states including Jharkhand, UP, West Bengal. This is the reason why the railways have issued the first tender to implement the armor system in these states.

A senior official associated with the matter said that the railways has issued a tender in the month of August itself for installing the armor system. Under this, armor system is being installed on 5,000 kilometers of railway track. The work of giving tenders will be completed by the end of October and the work of installing the armor system will also be completed in the next 12 to 18 months.

The 12 states selected by the Indian Railways include Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Jharkhand. Apart from this tender, the Railways has issued two more tenders, in which armor system will be installed in UP, Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Not only this, a tender of Rs 25 crore has been issued to install armor system in 30 sets of trains at the Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala, Punjab.
