Railway Rules General Ticket Digital Payment: Every year the new financial year starts from 1 April. Many rules related to your money change from this day. Similarly, from April 1 this year, Railways is also going to bring such a rule regarding the payment of its general tickets, which is going to provide great relief to crores of people traveling on general tickets in the country. Digital QR code has also been approved for payment of general railway tickets from April 1, through which you can also buy your general train ticket through UPI.
This work will have to be done by March 31
To provide relief to passengers from long rush at railway stations and taking another step towards Digital India, Railways has decided that now online ticketing facility will be available at unreserved ticket counters at railway stations also. This service will be started for the people from 1 April 2024. Senior DCM of Ajmer division Sunil Mahala said that a target has been given to complete all the preparations by March 31 to start this service at 96 stations of the division.
General ticket payment will be online
In this new service of Railways, people will also be able to pay through QR code at the ticket counter present at the railway station. In this, payment can be done through major UPI modes like Paytm, Google Pay and Phone Pay.

Promotion of digital payment by Railways is going to provide a lot of relief to the people buying general tickets at the daily ticket counter. Digital payment through UPI will provide relief to people from the problem of loose money. This will save the time spent by the employee present at the ticket counter in matching cash. With digital payment, people will get tickets in less time, which will also promote complete transparency.
