Indian Railways: Indian Railways keeps taking steps from time to time for smooth travel of passengers. Now Railways has taken a big decision regarding ticket reservation. Passengers traveling by train will now be able to book tickets only 60 days in advance. This system is being started by the Railway Ministry from November 1. At present, railway passengers can book train tickets up to 120 days in advance. This order has been issued by the Railway Ministry on Thursday.
In the order issued by the Railway Ministry, it has been said that currently passengers book reserved tickets 120 days in advance, but from November 1, this is being changed and this period is being reduced to 60 days. This will not affect tickets booked till October 31 and passengers will be able to buy tickets 120 days in advance. Passengers will also be able to cancel those tickets which have more than 60 days left for their departure.
This rule will not have any impact on trains running during day time like Taj Express, Gomti Express etc. Their time limit will remain the same as before. Apart from this, this order will also not affect foreign tourist trains. In these, booking can be done 365 days in advance.
If you have booked a ticket, what will be its impact?
Due to festivals like Diwali and Chhath, many people might have booked their tickets as soon as the reservations started. If you are also in this list then there is no need to worry. Actually, this decision of Railways will not affect the tickets booked till October 31. This means that by the end of this month, tickets can be booked for up to four months, but from November 1, tickets can be booked only for 60 days.
