General Ticket Payment Rules: Now there will be no compulsion to keep cash to buy tickets at the railway station, nor will there be any hassle of change. From April 1, digital payment facility will start at all stations of Ajmer division including Udaipur. That is, if the passenger does not have cash then he can buy the ticket by making online payment.
Till now, the transaction for purchasing tickets at unreserved and reservation counters of most stations is done in cash only. Apart from this, there is provision for cash payment only in other facilities including parcel office, parking, refreshment room. However, digital payment facility is available at reservation counter, luggage compartment, refreshment room, parking and vendors at Udaipur City station.
Booking of unreserved tickets and parcels is being done in cash only.
Having an online payment system at the booking counter will relieve employees from the problem of collecting, managing and reconciling cash. This will make the entire system transparent. Nowadays, many times complaints of misappropriation of money come to the fore. Passengers will also get tickets in less time and will also get relief from long queues at the counter.
Digital payment started at 38 stations of Ajmer division
Senior DCM of Ajmer division Sunil Mahala said that QR codes will be pasted at all the stations by March 31. At present digital payment has started at 38 stations. With this, passengers will be able to pay fare through UPI (Paytm, Google Pay, Phone Pay) at unreserved ticket counters. For this, QR code is being prepared by Railway Information System Center for digital payment at the counters. Staff at stations will be given training for this. Along with this, TTE will also be able to collect fine online from ticketless passengers through QR code in hand held device at the station.
