New Delhi, 21 October (Hindustan Reporter). The 4th Hockey India Senior Women's Inter-Departmental National Championship concluded on Monday. In the final match played on Monday at Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium, New Delhi, Railway Sports Promotion Board won the championship title by defeating Indian Oil Corporation Limited-Women. In the match for third/fourth place, Central Board of Direct Taxes defeated Sports Authority of India and won the third place.
In the final, Railway Sports Promotion Board defeated Indian Oil Corporation Limited-Women 3-1. After the first quarter of the match was goalless, Deepika scored a goal in the 18th minute to give Indian Oil Corporation Limited-Women the lead. However, Railway Sports Promotion Board soon equalized through Vandana Kataria's goal in the 19th minute. Then, a few minutes before the third interval, Navneet Kaur scored to put Railway Sports Promotion Board ahead 2-1. In the last quarter, Salima Tete scored in the 49th minute to give victory to Railway Sports Promotion Board.
Earlier in the match for 3rd/4th place, Central Board of Direct Taxes defeated Sports Authority of India in a penalty shootout. There was no goal from both the teams in the match. After this, the result of the match came through penalty shootout, in which Central Board of Direct Taxes defeated Sports Authority of India 3-2.
