Amidst the train ticket crisis during the festive season, Railways has made a major change in the ticket booking rules. According to information received from sources, passengers can now book tickets from IRCTC 60 days before the date of departure of the train. At present the period for advance ticket booking is 120 days.
Let us tell you here that passengers have been demanding changes in advance ticket booking rules for a long time. Now Railways has taken a big decision on this.
No effect on already booked tickets
Sources claim that the new rules related to ticket booking will come into effect from November 1, 2024. This will not have any effect on already booked tickets. Let us tell you here that due to Diwali on 1st November and Chhath Puja on 6th November, ticket booking is disrupted on all railway routes. Changes in ticket booking rules were being demanded by passengers for a long time. Passengers alleged that the agents book the seats in advance as soon as the booking starts. Due to this, genuine passengers face difficulty in getting tickets.
Amidst all this, Indian Railways is rapidly moving towards incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its systems and processes. Railways have already installed AI-less cameras to monitor the quality of linen and food. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that we have confirmed the AI model to check the occupancy of trains. It was found out how many seats are vacant in the train.
