To travel under this, you must have the platform ticket of the concerned station. If you have a platform ticket then your journey will also be considered legally valid. For this you can continue your journey by paying additional fine.

Similarly, if a single girl or woman is traveling in a train without a ticket, then TTE cannot throw her out of the train. There is also a rule of Indian Railways that if a woman is traveling alone in a train and does not have a ticket, then TTE cannot deboard her from the train. If the woman has money, she can continue her journey by paying the fine. Even if the woman does not have money, the TTE cannot take her out of the compartment.

Railways had made a law in the year 1989, according to which, if a woman passenger traveling alone is dropped at any station, there can be a possibility of untoward incident. The control room is informed about the current status of the woman and the circumstances under which the woman is travelling. If we find the matter suspicious then we inform it to the GRP and the GRP gives the responsibility to the lady constable.
