In recent times, incidents of continuous attempts to derail railway trains are increasing. In such a situation, Indian Railways has taken an important decision. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has announced that several cameras will be installed in all trains to monitor the areas around the railway track. This step has been taken after several incidents. In which there is a possibility of trains derailing. The aim of this step is to improve the safety of pilgrims. Along with installing cameras on cattle guards and coaches, cameras will be installed in front and behind the engine and guard coaches.
Tender will be issued soon for installing cameras
According to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, the tender for the plan to install CCTV cameras will be issued within three months. Which will include all trains. Apart from the cameras, a central data center will be set up to review the collection of footage from these devices.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has recently described the attempt to derail railway tracks as very serious and said that the Railways is coordinating with state police chiefs to increase surveillance on railway tracks. The focus will be on strengthening the IB network and creating public awareness to prevent attempts to derail trains from railway tracks.
Cameras will detect suspicious objects on railway tracks
According to the information, discussions are going on to install AI-equipped CCTV cameras on the engines. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that to increase the security of Indian Railways, there is a plan to install 75 lakh AI-powered CCTV cameras in coaches and engines at a cost of about Rs 15 thousand crore.
These cameras will detect suspicious objects on the railway track and alert drivers to apply emergency brakes. Indian Railways is planning to equip 40,000 coaches, 14,000 locomotives and 6,000 EMUs with AI-powered CCTV cameras.
