Railway Fare: It is good news for railway passengers that the Railway Board has reduced the general ticket fare. Now you can travel up to 50 km in passenger trains by buying a ticket for just Rs 10. That means the fare from Jhunjhunu to Sikar has now reduced from Rs 40 to Rs 20. Similarly, from Jhunjhunu to Jaipur it will now cost only Rs 40, which earlier used to cost Rs 75.
Before the Corona period, the minimum fare in ordinary trains was ten rupees. But when trains started operating after Corona, the Railways gave special status to all the trains and increased the fare from Rs 10 to Rs 30. After almost four years, the Railway Board has again reduced the increased fare.
Three times the fare in the name of special
The operation of trains was stopped in March 2020 during the Corona period. After this, Railways started special trains to reduce the crowd. By adding 0 in front of the number of ordinary trains, they were made special trains and the fare was increased. Their minimum fare was reduced to Rs 30. After this, increased fares were being charged in passenger trains for the last four years. With this decision of the Railway Board, only Rs 10 fare will have to be paid for traveling up to 50 km in passenger trains. After this, i.e. after 50 kilometers, the fare will increase by Rs 5 for every 10 to 15 kilometers of travel. Now passengers will be able to travel up to 90 kilometers for Rs 30.
Travel to Sikar for Rs 20 and Jaipur for Rs 40
The benefit of reducing the minimum fare to Rs 10 in passenger trains will be available in six passenger trains running on Sikar-Jhunjhunu and Loharu routes. Trains running from Bathinda to Loharu, Trains running from Jhunjhunu to Sikar, Trains running from Jaipur to Sikar and Jhunjhunu to Bathinda, Trains running from Sikar to Jhunjhunu, Trains running from Sikar to Jhunjhunu, Rewari to Loharu. DEMU trains running from Jhunjhunu to Sikar, DEMU trains running from Sikar to Jhunjhunu to Loharu. This facility will also be available in the DEMU train going from Loharu to Jhunjhunu Sikar.

No relaxation in these categories
From March 2020, Railways had also stopped the concessions given to passengers in many categories. Railways used to give fare concession to 55 categories of passengers. But after Corona, this exemption was stopped for many of these categories. Senior citizens, cancer patients and disabled, who cannot travel without escort, were given 75 per cent concession in Second Class, Sleeper, First Class, 3 AC, AC Chaircar and 50 per cent concession in First AC and Second AC. There was also a provision for concession for blind passengers, completely mute passengers and seriously ill patients. Similarly, the service of concessional tickets is closed for many categories including national level award winners, journalists, sports, war, widow women, youth, scouts etc. The Parliamentary Standing Committee has also recommended the restoration of these services.
