East Champaran, 02 September (HS). On Monday, a team of drug inspectors from the district raided the medicine shop run in Ganpati Hospital located near Chakia Krishak Cold Storage. A large quantity of medicines was recovered from here. The cost of the recovered medicines is said to be in lakhs of rupees.
The team was led by drug inspector Dayanand Prasad. The team included drug inspector Sushil Kumar and drug inspector Rais Alam. The raid was conducted in the presence of Chakia CO as magistrate and with the cooperation of police force.
Drug inspector Dayanand said that secret information was received that Dr. Ajit Kumar runs a drug store illegally in Ganpati Hospital. A team was formed on the information and a raid was conducted. Medicines worth lakhs of rupees were recovered from here. The recovered medicines also included banned and narcotics. He said that a prosecution will be filed in the court against Dr. Ajit Kumar, the doctor who runs the drug store. On the information of the raid, the shutters of many drug stores started falling in Chakia. This action has created a stir in the entire area.
