Rahul Sharma selected as volunteer of Drug Free India Campaign

Hisar, August 9 (HS). Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan being run by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, many activities are being organized through online medium to make the general public aware on the occasion of completion of four years of the campaign on Independence Day. According to this activity, an online webinar was organized on Friday under 'Champions of Change: Insights of Nasha Mukt Bharat Master Volunteers'. The webinar was chaired by State Coordinator Ayushi Chaudhary and Ragini Jha from the Ministry. Jaya Goyal, Senior State Coordinator Anushka Gupta also participated. Special information was given about the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in the webinar. Along with this, five master volunteers were selected from across the country for doing excellent work. These included Rahul Sharma from Haryana, Nanda from Maharashtra, Ankit from Bihar, Kamesh from Tamil Nadu, Shubham from Assam. They shared their experiences in the program.

Rahul Sharma, the only master volunteer selected from Haryana, said that he has been working in the field of de-addiction since 2018. Under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan being run by the Ministry, he has been working as a master volunteer free of cost with the district administration and social welfare department since January 2021. He said that under this campaign, more than 350 awareness programs have been successfully organized and around 300 programs have also been uploaded on the app provided by the ministry. Through these programs, more than two lakh people have been made aware and connected with this campaign.
