Rahul Gandhi defamation case : Rahul Gandhi, MP from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, will appear in Sultanpur MP/Vidhan Court on Friday (July 26). The court had fixed July 26 as the next date in the Amit Shah hate speech case. During the last hearing, the judge had said that if Rahul did not appear physically on July 26, action would be taken against him.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had to appear in Sultanpur MP Legislative Court on July 2 in a defamation case. Rahul's lawyer refused to appear citing his busy schedule in Parliament. After which the court accepted it and ordered Rahul Gandhi to appear on July 26.

Rahul Gandhi's lawyer Kashi Prasad Shukla says that the MP Legislative Court of Sultanpur is hearing the case of making indecent remarks against Home Minister Amit Shah. BJP leader Vijay Mishra's lawyer Santosh Kumar Pandey said that if sufficient evidence is found against Rahul Gandhi, he can be sentenced to a maximum of two years.
