In his petition, Subramanian Swamy has demanded that the Home Ministry be directed to cancel Rahul Gandhi's citizenship. This petition may be heard in the Delhi High Court next week. In the petition, Swamy has demanded that the Delhi High Court seek a state report from the Home Ministry. In response to an RTI request for information on Rahul's citizenship, the central government refused to share any information. A person sought information about Rahul's citizenship from the Union Home Ministry under the Right to Information (RTI). In response, the ministry said that no disclosure can be made under Section 8(1)(h) and (j) of the RTI Act. Giving information would hamper the investigation process.
